J : So basically I grew up in Switzerland,

I lived there my whole life,

But I wanted to make a change in my career.

So I came here to here to Medellin, Colombia to follow my dreams.

When it comes to creating music, I feel that all the producers, and all the artists are very highly focused in Medellin.

Right now there’s a special movement going on in Colombia in the music world.

Many different artists are coming to pursue their career in Colombia.

Artists from Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica etc..

I felt like I needed to come here to expand my career and promote myself more.

It’s been a great journey and I have met many people.

Q: And who would you say is someone you want to collaborate with, now that you're in Colombia?

J : There’s many talented artist here, but I would have to say Feid and Bryan Castro,

I enjoy their flows, I love the fact that they are influenced by different sounds as like myself.

it’s been a journey.

Becoming Vegan was just like one of those things I wanted to try you know.

I liked it and I stayed with the Vegan lifestyle.

Q : What would you say is your favorite Colombia vegan dish that you’ve been having while in Colombia ?

J : That’s a hard one..

Well I would say maybe what I had today : quinoa, with beyond meat the (Vegan meat replacement),  with a regular salad, a bit of rice on the side and vegetables.

Q: How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard you before ?

A: I would say a mix of Hip-Hop with a latin sound, I grew up listening to a lot of New York rappers and of course I listened to latin music too. So I would say it’s like bridge bringing together those two worlds.

Q: Growing up who were your biggest musical influences ?

J : I would definitely say Nas, he’s my all time favorite artist,

Jim Jones, Camron the whole Dipset, Raekwon, and Method Man I’m a big fan of them all.

Q: What are your most memorable moments so far in your career ?

J : I would say probably was when I was performing in Barcelona, Spain in a WaterPark they had a special musical festival, while I was performing with the other artists the guests were swimming in the pools, while they were watching us perform. It was a great experience.

Also when I was in London performing for the first time, in a Colombian nightclub.

I was heavily embraced by the crowd, they were talking pictures with me, buying me shots, it was a very memorable experience.

Q: What’s the message that you want to send to your audience,

and to the world ?

J : I think this is an important question because we have to be conscious that as artists we inspire the youth.

My message would be to never stop dreaming big. Just like I took a chance to start over in a new country, we should never stop pursing our dreams because we only have one life to live.

RICHIE VALENTINO

INTERVIEW

Jim Jones

Jim Jones,

the NYC legend he never stops working ..

After more than 20 years in the music industry Jim has transcended into many different industries and has done so successfully. From his involvement in the Crypto universe creating Capo Coin, to his early involvement in NFTs, the Capo is doing it all.

He currently has a brand new mixtape out with DJ Drama. Of course I wanted to know all about the project, I was able to ask Jim a few quick questions about his new project :

Q : How do you feel now that the project with DJ Drama has been released ?

Jim Jones : How do I feel ?

 I feel relieved,

The project started around October,

I was actually supposed to release it on Halloween. I ended up pushing it back because the project sounded really dope.

I didn't want to rush to put the project out. Everything came out together organically.  I didn't really have too many problems, just a few samples that needed to get cleared. It's always great when you release a project, it's never easy to complete a project there's so many variables :

To recording

Mixing,

Mastering,

Sampling,

Features

and actually having your mind right.

There's always a sigh of relief when an artist releases a project.

Q: What were your most memorable moments while creating this project ?

Jim Jones :

The first couple nights we started recording the energy in here was crazy.

We had two sessions running simultaneously, we were doing about four records a night. We had all the artist coming in, everyone from Dusty, to Op, Connie. Every night in here was pretty fun, we had a lot of memorable moments.
